Sandals: See by Chloe, Ribbed shorts: Alexander Wang, Crop tank: UO, Vest: Stolen Girlfriends Club, Shades: LF

Finally! An outfit post, it’s been a while because my old camera is broken and I’ve been so tired of the crappy IPhone snaps where my hair looks flat and the shadows are terrible but until I get a new camera these kind of pictures will have to do. I am thinking of getting an Olympus pen… Doing lots of research. Anyways, these sandals by See by Chloe looked geriatric and therapeutic (the closure is even velcro LOL!) in the Yoox pictures but I just knew they’d be amazing. They’re very similar to the Marni x H&M metallic sandals but they’re better I think, at least for me, because I LOOOOVE See by Chloe. Hot pants are super comfy ribbed deliciousness by Alexander Wang which I chose out of Yoox’s Jane Birkin-inspired collection from last month. The Ram’s Vest by Stolen Girlfriend’s Club returns again this Spring. It’s such a Spring vest, no other time to wear it. For me to wear a “ram’s vest” is so appropriate… My head is harder than granite. This tank is so super old — amazed by how long it’s held up, at least a good six years!!

So this is me feeling better and actually having lost 5 lbs after the Green Cleanse!

I’ll never stop being thrilled at seeing my byline. Such a dream come true — and to think a couple years ago I was a financial analyst (blech!)!

So, this month you can find an article by me on fashion and Polaroid film in the totally rad, edgy and artistic VAR magazine. My article is first on the issue’s “Side A” (it’s a double sided issue)!

YEAHH! First in line!

Based out of NYC, it began as tattoo blog by Editor in Chief, Danny Michel, and has evolved fantastically into an art and fashion lifestyle magazine. Totally stoked about this contribution gig, especially judging from the first issue I’m in and the artistically supportive staff. Really looking forward to doing more work with VAR in the future.

This week has been SO nice with my younger art students, so many of them gave me drawings they did on their own as presents. So sweet! Aren’t they great? These four students who drew the four drawings below are awesome kids I look forward to seeing every week.

Speaking of teaching and art, ARTOMATIC STARTS THIS FRIDAY!! I don’t actually think I’ll make it to opening night because of a friend’s birthday party but I will definitely be there June 2 for Meet the Artist Night as will Coco — to answer all your questions! :)

Though I won’t be there Friday, I WILL be there this Saturday afternoon,  teaching a FREE Adult creative writing workshop. I’ll also be teaching a creative writing workshop for kids and a handmade books workshop later on in May and June. For more on the schedule of events check out the Events tab at Sinta Jimenez on Facebook!

OMG and so funny I found out that people have been pinteresting my hair and even an art project I did with Coco!

Today’s breakfast and lunch smoothie:

1 1/2 cup almond milk
2 cups spinach
Slice of mango
Three strawberries
1/3 cucumber
1 banana

I also added a tablespoon of SafSlim safflower oil to help with breaking down fat!

One thing I can say for green smoothies is how much energy they give you! I had the most intense workout today that I’ve had since getting pregnant three years ago! I used to run and swim daily at a very athletic level to maintain stamina for surfing. Today I felt like I’m starting to return to that place. Fantastic. Also I think the Cleanse pills I am taking are working really well with the green smoothies. Coco continues to enjoy green smoothies with me everyday and I’m thrilled with all the veggies she’s taking in!

I have had two non green meals but I’ll be stricter going forward (I hope!) though I really feel they haven’t impacted the benefits I’ve experienced in the past couple days. Going forward after the Cleanse I’d like to incorporate the smoothie into my daily diet!

Tote bags are all the rage especially with the bag tax in the DC metro area so I thought it would be fun, artistic, and ecologically friendly giveaway to celebrate our participation as exhibitors at Artomatic this year! This large tote bag features our painting “To the Surface” with an image of a jellyfish made by linocut print against one of Coco’s colorful watercolor and oil pastel backgrounds.

All you have to do to enter this tote bag giveaway is Like Sinta Jimenez on Facebook!

Thanks to my two long-time friends, Jinah and Shannon, for modeling the tote. Fun fact: Shannon used to model in Japan! ;)
